Environmental Policy
The Slate Hall Group comprises of veterinary practices (Slate Hall Veterinary Services & Wyatt Poultry Services) which specialize in Poultry care and a pharmaceutical supplier (Pharmsure UK). At Slate Hall & Wyatt Poultry Services, our veterinary team strive to provide friendly and knowledgeable support from initial advice to diagnosis, farm visits and health programmes. Pharmsure UK provide pharmaceutical supplies to the Poultry industry and Large Animal practices throughout the UK. We acknowledge that our operations have an effect on the environment and have identified our key environmental aspects that contribute to our environmental and carbon footprint as follows:
- Consumption of electricity, gas, and water.
- Waste generation
- Transport emissions
- Use of raw materials, including prescribed drugs and medicines
- Procured goods and services with their own environmental impact
The Slate Hall Group is committed to reducing its environmental impact through a journey of continual improvement by working through the Investors in the Environment accreditation scheme.
Our environmental commitment can be demonstrated in our established objectives and goals below:
- To comply with, and where possible exceed, current legislative requirements.
- Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and public/customer expectations
- Monitoring our key resource usage and implementing conservation techniques to achieve our environmental targets
- Implement a waste/recycling policy and sustainable procurement policy where possible.
- Integrate environmental objectives into the everyday management of the business, such as adding electric vehicles for new fleet vehicles and promoting responsible resourcing.
- To encourage and support staff to adopt sustainability projects, within their own work areas and across the business as a whole.
- Working across the business to minimise the impact on the environment due to our working practices.
Our data will be included in the annual sustainability report of our parent company – CVS group. We will continue to improve our environmental management system by working to the Investors in the Environment (iiE) criteria, considering any changes in legislation, our organisation, and other factors. We will convey this policy to all our employees ensuring that they are provided with training to increase awareness of environmental matters.
Angela Cooksey, Senior Practice Administrator is our Sustainability Champion and has designated responsibility for the day-to-day implementation of this policy.
Slate Hall Veterinary Services, Wyatt Poultry Services and Pharmsure UK will make this policy available when requested to interested parties including members of the public, including making a copy available on the Practice’s website.
This policy should be read in conjunction with the Environment Policy Statement issued by our parent company, CVS Group https://www.cvsukltd.co.uk/about-us/sustainability/ . This policy is regularly reviewed by the management group of Slate Hall Veterinary Services, Wyatt Poultry Services and Pharmsure UK.
